Die BEGiNE wurde 1986 als Café und Kulturzentrum für Frauen gegründet. Der Standort: ein ehemals von Frauen besetztes und in Selbsthilfe Instand gesetztes Haus in Schöneberg.
Die BEGiNE gibt es nun seit 25 Jahren und hat eine wechselvolle Geschichte hinter sich. Noch immer bieten wir ein wechselndes, genreübergreifendes internationales Kulturprogramm (Musik, Kabarett, Literatur, Film), Informations-, Politik- und Diskussionsveranstaltungen, Ausstellungen, einen separaten Raum für Gruppentreffen und selbst organisierte Veranstaltungen, Tanzangebote, Workshops & Künstlerinnenberatung.
Wir engagieren uns dafür, dass Frauen einen Ort haben, sich zu treffen und Kunst von und mit Frauen zu erleben. Wir unterstützen Künstlerinnen jedweder Sparte.

DonationThe Begine was founded in 1986 as a coffee shop an cultural center for women. The site: an old house formaly squatted and completely resonstructed by women.
The BEGiNE has been existing for over 25 years with a changeful herstory now.
And we still offer a wide cultural program, covering all kinds of categories and aiming at an international approach with multifarious events and performances of music, cabaret, theatre, literature, movie screenings, information meetings and discussions and exhibitions. In addition we make our rooms available for all kinds of events, mostly women related, and we support women, if asked, in their progress of working as artists.
We are strongly commited to offer room and space to women and provide them with a place to meet, to share, to join and to spent time with women in a secure atmosphere. We support female artists of all sorts and kinds.
